THE ROAD PAVED THROUGH THE 2013 WORLD SERIES IS BOSTON

After their worst season in 50 years, the Red Sox have turned it around and then some. They have clinched the best record in MLB and will have home field advantage in every playoff series. Now that they earned it(and they did as they have the best run differential in the league) they have to take advantage of it. They can use the cold weather, their terrifying lineup, and best pitching in the league as they defend home field. Here are the standings on the final day of the regular season. Det plays Oak and the Red Sox await the tiebreaker between Cle, Tam and Tex.

AL EAST
  1. BOSTON 97-64
  2. TAMPA 90-71(7)
  3. BALTIMORE 84-77(13)
  4. NEW YORK 84-77(13)
  5. TORONTO 74-87(23)

As for the Pats, they are 3-0 after crushing Tampa last weekend. They head to Atlanta for a nationally televised tilt.
