FIRE FRANCONA, 2011 RED SOX COLLAPSING

In all my years of watching the Red Sox, I have not seen an epic collapse like this. Not only have they blown the AL EAST and home-field throughout, they may miss the playoffs. How, you may ask? True, they had an 11 game lead over Tampa for the wildcard 2 weeks ago. What happened? Its down to 5 games and could be worse this afternoon. Injuries happened. Bad coaching happened. Inconsistent hitting happened. A lack of starting pitching happened. A lack of a bullpen happened. And for those reasons the Red Sox suck and the manager should be fired. While we are on that topic, let's fire Epstein. As much as we like him, and hes done some solid stuff, we forget his mistakes such as Lugo, Renteria, Jenks, Cameron, Smoltz, Dice K and the list could go on.
The tea, started their collapse a few weeks ago, and they went on to struggle. They lost 2 of 3 to Texas, 2 of 3 to the Yanks, they got lost 3 of 4 to lowly Toronto and are about to probably get swept in Tampa. Sad, it really is. Shameful, sickening and disgusting. The 2 standout defeats involved Bard. He blew a 8-5 lead in Toronto(and cost Wake his 200th win in his 7th attempt). Last night, he lost the game in extras in Tampa. Two catastrophic losses.
The team is missing 4 of their 5 starters from opening day; Lackey, Dice, Beckett and Buchholz are injured and not in rotation. Only Lester is left, and hes been inconsistent. They are using bums like Miller, Wake, and Weiland. They cant hit even though they have guys with big numbers. They either score 8 or 1. Their best hitter, Gonzo, has horrific numbers against the two teams he must crush the ball against; Tampa and NY.
Sure, the team could get much owed payback next week in Boston as Tampa and Toronto pay us a visit. Sure, they could get healthy and win division. Sure, they could get healthy and hold of Tampa and whoever for the wildcard. Shit, they may even win the pennant or world series. And I hope they do.
