Nothing exciting to report in the world of sports this week around New England. Ben Watson, who underachieved for 6 season in New England, signed elsewhere. As did the back up tight end, Chris Baker. The Patriots did come to terms with Faulk for another go around, a vital move with Welker maybe missing 4-6 games to start next season.
The Celtics are an average team in a shitty conference. What is so frustrating for this team, much like last year, is essentially too much talent and too little determination. They don't care. They are going through the motions, coasting in the #4 spot and waiting for the playoffs. With that in mind, they lost to the Bucks at the buzzer by 2 points. That was one night after being down double digits in the 4th quarter to the even crappier Wizards. They did come back to win, but that did little considering the club fell to the Bucks and lost by 11 to the Cavs today. They did slap the Pacers around earlier this week, but a 2-2 week against a rather weak slate of opponents is pathetic.
The Bruins cling to the #8 seed these days. The club suffered 2 catastrophic events last Sunday in Pittsburgh. First, they lost stud Marc Savard for the season after getting elbowed in the head by Cooke. He was knocked out and had a concussion. To make matters worse, they blew a 1-0 lead and lost 2-1. The team lost to lowly Toronto 4-3 2 days later. The team blew 3 leads and lost in OT. Rask was back from injury 2 nights later in Philadelphia and Bruins looked good and won 5-1. Unfortunately, the week ended on a horrible note as we lost 3-2 to the hated Habs and stayed stuck in 8th place. The Bruins, who went 6-0 versus their hated rivals last season, finished 1-5 this time around. Shameful. The team, which has roughly 15 games left, will need 20 points to likely get in. This week, the team has New Jersey and Carolina on the road, then comes home for a much anticipated rematch with Cooke and the Pens.
