I don't recall any worse month for us Boston sports fans. The Patriots went 0-2, the BC Eagles basketball team collapsed and the Red Sox lost Jay Bay to the Mets. The Celtics assured us a worse month by ending it losing three straight. The team blew a 16 point lead in the 2nd half and collapsed in the final minutes and lost on a buzzer-beater. It was a shocking embarrassment on national television. The club lost for the 4th and final time to the Hawks the next night, and then blew another double-digit lead again in front of the nation yesterday at home versus the LAL. The team is now 4th in the East, and holds a mere 5 game lead over the Raptors in the Atlantic. Shameful. The team finished the month and is now 6-11 in the past 17 games, making January the first month the team has not gone .500 or better in over 4 years!
The Bruins played twice, and you guessed it, they lost both. Sure, the effort was better. But the bottom line is they lost em' both. No excuses for Julien anymore, as nearly everybody returned this weekend. The team lost 2-1 Buffalo and then 3-2(SO) to the LA Kings. The team is 13th out of 15 teams in the East. They are a meek 23-21. What a joke. The team did not win a home game in January and are 1-8-2 in their past 11 games. The team has not lost this many at home since, get this, 1927! Nowhere to go but up, right?
