Not much of the roster changed. They traded Kessel and A. Ward, and chose not to re-sign Fernandez as the backup goalie, nor Yelle as the 4th line center or Hnidy as the 6th DF. Instead, the team kept everyone else, including re-signing Krejci and signing stud Derek Morris. Sturm returns from injury.
There was no reason to tinker the roster, considering the team scored the 2nd most goals in the league and also finished 1st in scoring, as well as the #1 seed in the East. Moreover, if it aint broke don't fix it!
The team is spotlighted in most national tv games, including the opener vs. the Caps. The team played poor and lost 4-1. But two nights later they got revenge on the Canes' via a 7-2 blasting. The team knocked Cam Ward out of the game and won every fight. It was weird seeing both Yelle and A. Ward on the other side this year. So the team is 1-1 and has 3 more games on the homestand.
The Boston College Eagles football team is doing it again. With a young roster, they are doing some damage. Despite losing @ Clemson a few weeks ago, the team is 4-1. They look like the best team in their ACC Atlantic Division. Winning the division this season would be the 3rd straight season and would assure them of their 9th straight bowl game appearance!
The team that defeated them in the ACC title game the past 2 seasons is also next week's opponent, the 4-1 Hokies. Go Eagles!
The Patriots played the Ravens today, in an epic game of the week matchup. The Pats were 2-1 and the Ravens 3-0. By game end, both were 3-1.
The Pats looked solid but the Ravens looked solid them selves. The game had a strange feeling throughout, with included: several personal fouls, Welker's return, Galloway's non active status, no running game for the Pats, the Ravens fumbling the opening kickoff, Brady getting stripped at the goal line and the Ravens recovering for a TD, a Raven leaving the game on a stretcher, and much, much more!
Despite all of the hoopla, the Pats nursed a 27-21 lead, and the Ravens drove into the red zone late but it was all for naught. A 4th and 3 in the waning seconds led to a drop on the 5 yard line by Clayton. The intense game went the Pats way, as it should of. The Pats deserved to win. The team could have Mayo back next week for another epic matchup versus the 4-0 Broncos!
Here are standings in the AFC East after 4 games:
AFC EAST
- NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 3-1
- NEW YORK JETS 3-1
- MIAMI DOLPHINS 1-3
- BUFFALO BILLS 1-3
