It's weekend's like this that make me wonder why I don"t dis on global politics, which is always intriguing. The All-Star break came and went and our boys of summer took the field in Toronto for a 3 game series.
Playing at the Skydome is utter hell. Much like the Metrodome(it closes after this season) and Tropicana Field, these boring indoor venues suck. Boring, I'd rather be in the sun like I did today. Anyhow, Sox stud prospect Clay Buchholz made the start on Friday and impressed as the Sox won easily. Game 2 looked like an easy victory, but another no-name rookie shut down the powerful Red Sox lineup. Inexcusable. Even worse, they needed that game, especially with superstar Halladay throwing for the Jays on Sunday. Of course, he outdueled Lester, and with that the Sox exited Toronto with their heads down, embarrassed in losing to 4th place, under .500 Toronto. To make matters worse, the Yanks and Rays swept their 3-game series this weekend, and with that, both clubs gained 2 valuable games in the AL East within 24 hours. Ouch. Let's hope for a better week ahead, starting in Texas tomorrow.
All is quiet with the Bruins and Patriots this time a year, but the Celtics stole some headlines by sighing to solid bawlers in Rasheed Wallace and Marquise Daniels.
