Red Sox are everything right now. They have everyone's attention until the Patriots start soon. They are not really playing that well but are tied for first place in the AL East.
The Sox went 4-2 this week. That's pretty good, despite losing 2 of 3 at home to Texas this weekend. The team swept the Tigers in Detroit ealier in the week to go 6-4 on the 10 game roadie. But they came home and disappointed the Fenway faithful. The team can made some strides this week versus the Yanks and Phillies! Let's look at the good and bad for the 2009 Boston Red Sox so far.
The Good

• the team is tied for first place.
• 33-24 record.
• Lester and Beckett are getting things together, Wake has 7 wins.
• Bay, Youk, Lowell and Pedroia are producing.
• Team second in doubles(132).
• Third in team ERA(4.23).
• Tied for 1st in saves with 16.
• Staff has most K's with 423.
• Bay AL best 55 RBI.
• Pedroia AL best 45 runs.
• Ellsbury 2nd best 23 steals.
• Youk top 5 in slugging and average.
• Best bullpen.

The Bad

• Penny and Dice-K have struggled more often than not.
• Only team in AL with no shutouts.
• The team has struggled on road.
• 36 errors.
• Tied for 4th in AL in homers and average.
• Big Papi 2 HR and below .200 average.
• Getting very little from SS Lugo and Green.
