EASTER 2009: THINGS ARE GOOD IN BOSTON SPORTS!

Now that the Red Sox officially started their 2009 season, things are even more crazier, and more exciting! So to fill you in on what happened this week and what will happen real soon, here are 3 synopsis' of are 3 clubs playing at the moment!
Bruins: They have clinched the #1 seed in the East. They start the playoffs on Thursday! With nothing to play for, the club lost a few games. They fell to the Sens 3-2 and the Sabres 6-1. Coach Julien rested the key players though. In between the 2 losses, the team played in what is arguably the most exciting and physical regular season games in recent history! Of course, it was against the Habs! The game was filled with goals and fights, with the Bruins coming out on top in both! The Looch-Komisarek duel continued, but Chara, Hnidy, Montador, Thornton and Co. got physical too! The Bruins won 5-4 after blowing a 3-1 lead as the Habs scored 3 goals with the undisciplined Bruins in the sin bin during most of the 2nd period. To make things more wild, the 2 teams will face one another in the 1st round of the playoffs starting next Thursday in Boston! After last year's 7 game series, this was destiny it seems. This year the Bruins are #1 and the Habs are #8. The Bruins went 5-0-1 against the Habs this season. The series is the talk of the hockey world! It will be a great one and the B's are heavily favored! The team plays the Isles today for the last game of the regular season!
Celtics: They are playing well, even without Garnett and Powe! The team beat the Nets and Heat in Boston this week! With the Magic slipping to the finish line, the Celtics clinched the much coveted #2 seed! They play the Cavs today and then have 2 games before the playoffs begin next Friday in Boston! They will play either the 76ers, Bulls or Pistons!
Red Sox: They stumbled from the gate. After winning their opener vs. the pesky Rays behind Beckett's 10 K gem, the team lost the next 2 to Tampa. They then went to LA and lost Friday night but then won Saturday afternoon. If they win today, they will even their record up at 3-3.
So things are going well. Playoffs for the Celts and Bruins begin sometime late next week! The Sox will stay out West. In other news, the Providenc Bruins open their playoffs at home vs. Portland. Congrats to the BU Terriers. They scored twice in the final minute of regulation vs. Miami(OH) to foce OT and then eventually won. It was the NCAA Men's Hockey National Championship!
