BOSTON PROGRESSION

Another week, another blog. The sports scene here in Boston is alive and well. No Patriots and Red Sox. Yet, the Bruins and Celtics are both in 1st place. Also, the BC Eagles basketball team got back on track this week and are now 3-3 in the ACC and 15-6 overall.
The Celtics are hot again. After starting the season with an NBA record of 27-2, the team lost its way and went 2-7. But since then they have won 8 straight. Not only are they beating teams, they are destroying them. Garnett, Pierce and Allen are impressive. Rondo puts up a near triple-double each night and the mix of Perkins, House, Scalabrine, Powe and Big Baby play their roles well. This week, the team took on 4 impressive clubs. The team led the Suns 64-34 at halftime and cruised to a win on national television. Then they traveled to warm weather and defeated 2 solid teams, the Heat and Magic. Both wins were by double-digits. Then versus the Mavs on another nationally televised affair, the team led 74-47 at the half and went on to route them 124-100. Really impressive week for the green. The team has a 14 game lead in the Atlantic Division and sit at 37-9. That matches last season's mark after 46 games!
The Bruins had 1 match this week after losing a near demoralizing game on Monday. They traveled to Toronto and things looked bleak at the end of 2 periods 3-1. But the team fought back and scored 2 goals to force OT and an eventual shootout win! The team has the most points in the East and tied overall with the Sharks with 73 points! The All-Star Break is ongoing, and Savard/Thomas/Chara are taking part. Wheeler had a hat trick in the Youngsters game and Chara won the hardest shot, breaking a record in the process! A huge week lies ahead. The Bruins have 3 games at home with the Capitals/Devils/Rangers before heading to MTL for a showdown. The current standings are below. Go Bruins!
