This will be a quick blog. This is your place to keep current with the New England sports scene among other topics. Well, the Red Sox were well represented during the All-Star game, as J.D. Drew won MVP honors for his 2 run shot.
So the team kicked off a six game roadie after the break. The Angels came into Boston earlier this season and won 2 of 3 games in Fenway so payback was expected. Unfortunately, a 3-3 tie in the opener was gone after Buchholz got rocked. The next 2 games were worse though. A 2-0 lead in the 7th was blown by ace Beckett and the club got shocked 4-2. To make matters worse, the team had a 3-2 lead late in the finale and it looked as though the team would walk out with some pride-but the bullpen failed once again as the halos scored 3 runs in the 8th and won 5-3.
Shocking. Horrendous. Inexcusable. Disgusting. I could go on. The team is now 1.5 out of first and with the Yanks sweeping the A's, they are only 3 games back of the Sox. Amazing what a weekend can do to and for you. So another sweep on the road. It's not the 1st time. The team has been swept by Tampa twice, Toronto, Seattle, Baltimore, Oakland and now Anaheim. A 36-11 record seems almost meaningless with a despicable 21-32 road mark. The team better get in gear vs. Seattle this week before home series vs. the Yanks and halos again!
