POST 99!

It was another hectic week in the Boston sports scene. Despite that, I only have a few minutes to fill you in. Ready? Good.
Well, the Bruins continue to struggle. They are simply snake bitten and can't find the net. They hit crossbars, posts and watch the puck trickle by the goalie but never in the net. That is why the team is in a bit of a slump and are just holding on to one of the final 2 playoff spots. After getting shutout in New York last Sunday, the team traveled to Ottawa in bad shape. Chara was ruled out for the entire week and the team struggled without their captain. Ottawa won 4-1.
The team had plans to regroup versus the lowly Lightning, arguably the worst team in the entire NHL. But newly acquired goalkeeper Smith and the bolts came into beantown and won 3-1! Unbelievable. The team hobbled into the weekend with 2 big time games. They trailed the Flyers 2-1 but scored the tying goal late after pulling Tim Thomas. Huge win! The team traveled to the nation's capital for a Sunday matinee vs. the hard-charging Caps. The teams battled good and the game had to be decided in a shootout. Huet and Auld both played phenomenal but the Caps got the extra point. The Bruins sit in 7th place but it's a dogfight between various teams.
The team only has 2 games this week, both vs. the Habs. The black and gold are 0-6 against Montreal and need these wins to get in the playoffs and also show they can beat their probable 1st round opponent. The team needs these.
As for the Celtics, the team went into Philadelphia and crushed the much improved 76ers. They then bashed the Supersonics in a blowout. Early on vs. the Jazz soon thereafter, Allen injured his ankle and the team struggled in a loss at home vs. the Jazz. It snapped a 10 game winning streak. The team bounced back the following night in a romp of Milwaukee. The team is 52-13 and clinched the Atlantic Division already!
