WMWM'S TOP 8 MELODEATH BANDS OF 08'

As some of you know, every Friday I do the "Breathe of Melodeath" around 4:30 during my afternoon hard rock and heavy metal radio gig on 91.7 called "the drive". So far this year, we've featured 7 bands. Usually the response from the die-hard listeners are very good. And why not, melodeath is the most underrated genre in metal today. It's fast, exciting, dark, cold, melodic, heavy, intense and atmospheric-to the point of chills.
In the coming months, I'll hopefully feature new albums from Children of Bodom, Norther, Kalmah and Omnium Gatherum. COB has a new album out April 15th.
And though many of the melodic death metal bands I play on a regular basis are on the cusp of melodeath, a la Blinded Colony, Soilwork and Nightrage, none are full fledged melodeath bands.
So here are the ratings, response wise, from the listeners thus far in 2008. Enjoy.
1. norther
2. amoral
3. mors principium est
4. imperanon
5. omnium gatherum
6. shyfire
7. elenium
