Huh, another Sunday, another blog. This will be a short but sweet one. Why? Well, the Pats don't play in Buffalo until later tonight. Same goes for the 2 games that follow. The Pats take on Buffalo in their quest for the AFC East crown and the undefeated season.
The Red Sox continue to make waves just weeks after winning the title. They upped ticket prices at Fenway and continue talks with free agent Mike Lowell. Deals for Santana, Haren and Cabrera continue but personally the price is too high.
The Revolution played in the MLS Cup and lost again. What's new, right? For the 4th time since 2002. At least this time it was not overtime or penalty kicks. Two second half goals propelled the Dynamo to a 2-1 win over the Revs. Great season once again fro our Revolution.
Good news though. The Celtics are still undefeated, they are 8-0 after beating the Pacers in Indiana by 15 points, the Nets in Beantown by 22 then the Heat on Friday. They were up 86-71 in the 4th quarter but a 15-0 run made things even but the Celtics won by a point when Wade missed a shot at the buzzer. The Celtics take on the Magic in a mere 15 minutes. While the C's remain undefeated, every team in the NBA has lost at least twice, including tonight's opponent Orlando Magic(8-2).
The Bruins continue to play well without much fanfare. With Thomas playing light's out in net and Bergeron seemingly out for the season, they sit at 9-7. They beat the Leafs 5-2 on Thursday but fell to the Hab's 7-4 last night. In a great game in Montreal last night, the Bruins dismantled after being even at 3-3. Too many lapses, too many penalty minutes. Fights and scrums ensued all game with great action on both sides. Both teams combined for well over 100 PIM. Even the coaches verbally fought during the game. In the end, the B's are 0-3 vs. the Hab's thus far. Revenge will be sweet.
Lastly, let's talk about the BC Eagles. They traveled to Clemson in a nationally televised game in a brutal road environment. Both teams had 2 losses and the winner would go on to the ACC Championship. The Eagles scored 17 4th quarter points and won 20-17. Ryan hit Gunnell on a 43 yarder and Callender had another great game catching and running. He looks like Westbrook of the other Eagles (Philadelphia) and Ryan looks like Brady at times.
Huge win for BC. They take on the Hurricanes on Senior Day in Chestnut Hill next week and owe revenge for last year's Thanksgiving comeback loss. In any case, the Eagles are 1 win shy of the Orange Bowl. Absolutely amazing.
Next week will talk about all the aforementioned teams and the High School Championship games in Massachusetts. Later.
