Yeah, you may wonder why this is turning into a sports blog. Well, so much is happening, mostly for the better.
So let's take a look at the week that was. The Pats had a bye week and sit at 9-0 and await the 5-4 Bills next week. Th win over the Colts never felt so good!
The Celtics defeated the Nuggets on Wednesday, the Hawks on Friday and the Nets yesterday. The C's are the only undefeated NBA team, they sit at 5-0. Meanwhile, the Bruins lost to the Habs in a nail biter 2-1. Then they fell at the hands of Buffalo 2-1. They blew a late 1-0 3rd period lead then lost in the extra frame. That meant the team had lost 4 in a row, all by 1 goal.
They recovered on Saturday night and beat Buffalo 2-1. Tim Thomas continues to play stellar each and every night. The Bruins are 8-6 thus far.
The B.C. Eagles lost for the first time last week and were 8-1. They fell from 2 to 8 in the rankings. The team traveled to Maryland to regroup- that did not happen. They blew a 21-20 lead in the 2nd half and lost 42-35. The Eagles dropped to 18 in the rankings.
It all comes down to next week though. The Eagles travel to 16th ranked Clemson for the ACC Atlantic Championship. Both teams are ranked in the top 20 and sit at 8-2 respectively.
The New England Revolution, arguably the most successful MLS club, won the Eastern Conference Championship after dispatching NY/NJ then Chicago.
How successful have the Revs' been? Recently, they lost in the Eastern Conference Championship in 2003 and 2004. They went to the MLS Championship in 2005 and 2006...................and once again in 2007. They take on Houston, who defeated the Revs' on penalty kicks in excruciating fashion. Hope they win it this year.
In the next blog, I'll fill in all who care on the Red Sox offseason moves, high school football and the big games for the Revs, Eagles and Pats.
