The Boston Celtics have hope despite the fact they are wallowed in the mist of an 18 game losing streak. The team has not won a game on their home floor since, get this, December 15 of 2006! The aforementioned hope is that tonight's opponent at the Garden is none other than the reeling Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bucks played well last night versus the mighty Mavericks, while the Celts had the night off. With young fresh legs and the expected return of Wally Szczerbiak, the team should roll to their first victory in weeks.
The Bucks are without the sharpshooting Michael Redd, one of the best scorers in the league. But don't expect the Celtics to show any sympathy for the Bucks, they too were without their best player for a long period of time. Paul Pierce is back and I expect a solid game from the captain.
One lesson to be learned from the injuries sustained to both club's is the importance of having a second big time player on the roster. Case in point, the Houston Rockets. When Yao Ming went down, Tracy McGrady stepped up his game and the Rockets actually improved. But for the two clubs tonight, that isn't the case. In any case, the Celts should win tonight, and easily cover the 3 point spread. It's about time the Celtics get some luck. And the Garden fans deserve this one.
